Now that my “other job” is settling down and is less time consuming, I’m excited to be able to get back to card making and blogging. And what better way to get going again than by joining with my Stamping with Friends friends. This hop’s theme is colouring tools. The task – Create a project using one (or two) of the coloring tools – Brayer, Soft Pastels, Daubers, Pencils, Blending Brushes, Water Painters, Spritzer, or Blender Pens, but no Stampin’ Blends….that made it a bit tricky lol.

This one was a little tricky for me because I love to colour, so thinking outside the “colouring in” square I thought I’d try this very simple technique “three ways”.

I have used Fresh Freesia and Misty Moonlight stamp pads and inked up each end of the H Block. I’ve then used the block as if it had a stmap on it and stamped on the Basic White Cardstock.

On the first, I have used the spritzer with water to spray on the block first, then stamped onto the cardstock. This causes the ink to blend together to give a water colour effect.
On the second one, I sprayed the ink with alcohol first then stamped on the cardstock. This gave a a very different effect again with little blending.
For the third card, Inked the block, sprayed with water then used a stamp, picking up the colour as if it were just a regular ink pad. Again the colour is more water colour with a blurred effect.

I have inked up the stamp again with black Stazon ink and stamp over the original coloured area. Added some ribbon and wink of stella then attached them to the card bases. Simple stamping…
